Jayaruh #26 Arrives in Denmark

The #26 brush finally reached its new home and is undergoing the defunk process. Martin, The International Penguin of Mystery, plans to use it with tomorrow's shave. Included in the package was a Whipped Dog 24 mm synthetic. He plans to put it in the butterscotch handle in the picture above.

Jayaruh #26 Completed and On Its Way

Martin decided on the boar for his new brush.

Ready for the union.

Gorilla Glue Epoxy mixed and applied. The Quarter is to add loft.

I now pronounce you Jayaruh #26 completed.

Jayaruh #26 and 24 mm synthetic.

Bubble wrap on top for extra cushion.

Labelled and ready to take to the PO.

I got it all packed up and took it to the post office. I had to fill out customs papers and the clerk had to type a bunch of information into his computer. It cost about $13 to send it to Denmark with no frills. I hope it gets there quickly and with no issues. I especially hope that Martin will not have to pay anything to receive it.

Knots Arrive

Two packages arrived today from Whipped Dog. One was two knots from Martin in Denmark and the other had one knot from Don in South Florida. I will be putting one of Martin's knots in the Jayruh #26 handle.

Then I had a 24 mm silvertip knot that I believe will end up in my Jayaruh #20 barrel handle.

Jayaruh #26: Destined for Denmark

The is the Jayaruh #26. It is a custom handle made from bird's eye maple made for Martin of Denmark. The handle measures approximately 66 mm. In the first picture is the raw board (3/4 x 8 inches) and then a close up of the grain. I cut a strip 1.5 inches wide then two pieces 2.5 inches long. I glued them together to make a square blank. I cut the corners off to make a octagonal blank. After that I began to shape it with a sanding cylinder. It is stained with a dark walnut finish. I dry fitted a 24 mm silvertip badger just for the photo. It will eventually take a 24 mm synthetic or 24 mm boar. The last four pictures are just glamour pictures.

Knots arrive October 29.

The 24 mm boar and 24 mm synthetic knots arrived today. I did a dry fitting. In the second picture, I added a quarter to increase the loft by 2 mm.
