Set New Knots

I made final adjustments to the handles today, widening the holes and making them a bit deeper. The first and second pictures are the knots dry fitted. Being satisfied with the appearance, I went ahead and epoxied the knots in the handles. The knots are 21 mm pure badger knots.

With the completion of these three brushes, I have just four left without knots. I have two knots in the mail now, so in a week or so, I will be down to just two handles without knots,

JR#15: pine
JR#21: wormy apple
JR#29: bird's eye maple

Knots epoxied in and curing.

Jayaruh #21 Begins

This brush handle started with a piece of wood that was sent to me by Ed on TSD. It is an apple wood block. It was very "wormy." After I made the initial shaping, I cleaned out the worm holes and filled them with five-minute epoxy. I let it dry over night and put a coat of polyurethane on it. The pictures below are after that first coat had dried.
