Two New Razors

OK, I know. I said I won't be buying any new hardware this year, and here I am in February with two new razors. I should just stay off AliExpress. Anyhow, here they are. The first one is the Henson clone. I have the black version of this razor, and it is a great razor. It was ridiculously cheap, and I thought with two, I wouldn't feel bad about piffing one one day.  

The second one I have not seen before, and the price was right. It is a JiFULI double edge safety razor. It is a two piece razor. Unscrewing the handle separates the cap from the base plate and handle. I am looking forward to giving it a go next week. I read one testimony that reported that it was aggressive and efficient.

Today's shave with the Henson Clone was a first shave. For this shave I did use a new Gillette Silver Blue blade. This razor is a mild razor. I don't think there is much chance of drawing blood unless one has very bad form or loads the blade wrong. It does quite a bit of noise like scraping toast. After two passes, there was more clean-up / touch-up than usual. However, I did get a good shave.

On today's shave, I used the Henson Clone on the right side of my face during the first pass, using the Schick on the left side. The Clone is a mild razor and did not do as well as the Schick on the first pass. That ended the experiment. I will  use the Henson Clone for next week's shaves.

Henson Clone

Just received this Safety Razor from AliExpress. It appears to be a clone of the Henson Razor. It creates a 30 degree angle for the blade. The Henson Razor runs around $85, but this Safety Razor was $4.24 shipped. It comes with five Matgicol Swedish Quality Super Platinum Blades.
