Jayaruh #257

I made #257 at the same time as I did #256, so I call them sister brushes.  #257 is made from Louisiana cypress. Here they are fresh off the lathe and having the flutes crafted.

Next, these are pictures of dry fitting knots after I had put a polycrylic finish on the handles. Later, I would decide to use the Maggard synthetic horse on both.

Here is #257 with its faux horse.

This brush did not hang around very long. It was adopted very quickly. I reluctantly let it go knowing that I can make another one. The only thing is, I may not be getting any more of the Louisiana cypress.

Busy Day Today

Today was a busy day. I made two 400 type brush handles, one with spalted tamarind and one with Louisiana cypress.

I made a 3 inch handle for a lather catcher.

Ferrules came in from Tom, and I fitted them to the small lather catcher handles along with the #8 stainless steel screws.

Finally, I made a lid for an Old Spice mug from cedar.

For right now, they are all in process. I will be finishing them up over the next day or so.

Update:

JR#256
I dry fit the blonde synthetic for the picture.

JR#257
I dry set the Maggard synthetic for the picture.
