I'm going to try out my "new" Atra razor for the next week. I haven't shaved with any cartridge razor in about 4 years. This one dates back to the year my second son was born (1977).

The TABAC Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #62 Synthetic brush. I was pleasantly surprised at the shave today. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Atra with a Dorco Comfort Thin II blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. I like that the cartridge is designed to give lots of flow through. It was very easily rinsed between passes with no clogging. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue After Shave. Dorko PL 602 DE Razor

The Dorko PL 602 is a plastic double edge razor is made in Vietnam and comes with two NEW Platinum ST 300 blades.

It is a two piece razor with the base plate attached to its handle.

On the back, it reads (English is a second language in Vietnam):

• Dorco's high quality Double Edge Stainless Steel Blade are in this pack with a well designed twist grip razor handle, which gives a smooth, clean shaves and super comfort.

The blade is double wrapped.

The blade is placed over the alignment pins on the base plate, and the top is inserted in the hole and screwed down.

The blade aligns well. There are two dots on opposite sides of the handle so it can be backed off to make the exposure somewhat adjustable.

Cheap Soap Month is over, and now I'm going to use some not-so-cheap soap, starting with TABAC. I Won the No Buy July PIF

July 20, 2004

I found out today that I won this PIF. This was a PIF on The Shave Den by Mr. Silverman that was only open to those members that took the No Buy July pledge to not buy shaving products during July. The PIF includes:

• New bottle of TOBS Pre-shave oil
• New OSMA Alum block in world class paper case.
• 2 Voskhod packs, an Astra SP pack, Lord Pack and the highly coveted Dorcos...
• Some weird Chinese 3-piece that I used once, nicknamed "Slicey" and put aside for a PIF.
• A Weishi 2004-V TTO in case. Used once. This isn't the Weishi 9306, but is a decent TTO. The case is aces.
