Jayaruh #49 Begins

It was a very nice day out today, so I cut off a piece of oak and crafted this handle. I made the hole 25mm, carved JR 49 on the bottom, and sealed the handle with a 1:6 solution of polyurethane and mineral spirits. I have a couple of knots coming from Maggard Razors. I will wait and probably use one of those in this handle. There will be no stain for this handle. I want it to be more natural.

After the first coat of polyurethane.

I got to thinking that I might like to put a boar knot in the #49. I had this Omega Midget Boar sitting around that I had received in a trade. I used a hack saw and my Dremel to remove the knot from its handle.
