My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Vintage Life Morning TOST face lathered well with Jayaruh #30 Brush. I did two passes today using two different razors. I used the Russian SHaDE Razor with a Personna Half Blade on the right side and the Schick Repeating Type C razor with a Schick Proline blade on the left side and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. The Russian SHaDE razor did very well. It is nimble and very easy to use. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Russian DE Converted to SE

I got this Russian DE razor in the TSD raffle last year. Today, having never shaved with it, I converted it to a SE razor to use half DE blades. This type of razor is known as a SHaDE razor. Single edge Half Double Edge.

 

  

The razor had some plate loss, so I had to decide which side to remove. I placed it in my vice and used a hack saw to remove one side of the head.

 

I ended up taking off the plating from the top cap. 

 

 

 

So the top is raw brass now.
