Granddad's Blend After Shave

I was running low on my Granddad's Blend After Shave, so I mixed up a new batch. Makes me proud to be a Granddad. I should be set for a while now. The recipe is:

Pinaud Clubman 50%
Aqua Velva Musk 45%
Pinaud Lilac Vegetal 5%

Granddad's After Shave

I call this aftershave Granddad's. It is a blend suggested by dave on TOST.

It is 50% Clubman, 45% Aqua Velva Musk, 5% Lilac Vegetal. It is a nice old man blend. So, it works well with me.

Florida Water

Friday, June 19
Just arrived in the mail today, Florida Water, from a gentleman in South Florida. He said, "It pours out fast." He was right. I got a 2 oz. spray bottle and printed a label for it. That should slow it down a bit.

I really like the Florida Water. I have seen in on The Shave Den and read many reviews. Either you like it or you don't. It is a very old scent. Supposedly the first Toilet Water produced in the USA started back in the early 1800s.

From Wikipedia
Florida Water is an American version of Eau de Cologne, or Cologne Water. It has the same citrus basis as Cologne Water, but shifts the emphasis to sweet orange (rather than the lemon and neroli of the original Cologne Water), and adds spicy notes including lavender and clove. The name refers to the fabled Fountain of Youth,[citation needed] which was said to be located in Florida, as well as the "flowery" nature of the scent.

According to the current trademark holders, Lanman & Kemp Barclay, Florida Water was introduced by the New York City perfumer (and founder of the original company) Robert I. Murray, in 1808. In 1835 Murray was joined by David Trumbull Lanman and the firm became Murray & Lanman, then David T. Lanman and Co., and in 1861 became Lanman & Kemp. The company states that their product, now sold under the Murray & Lanman brand, still uses the original 1808 formula, and that the current label is also a slightly modified version of the 1808 original.

Pinaud Clubman After Shave

I just got a bottle of Pinaud After Shave. This is the first time I have used this AS. The scent goes way back. It is a classic scent reminiscent of old time barber shops. It is the AS that the barber would splash on your neck after he trimmed it with a straight razor. I used it today for the first time after a very nice shave.

Clubman after shave lotion is the quintessential after shave. This after shave lotion fragrance burst with top notes of orange, bergamot and mouth-watering lemon with green nuances throughout. The floral heart of jasmine, orange flower and geranium dance with lavender and is completed with a warm musk background.
