The New 195

At the suggestion of a fellow TSDer, I renamed the old 195 to 196 and created this 195 in honor of the Gillette 195, the Fatboy. I made this handle the old fashion way: without a lathe. I started with a piece of octagonal wood and drew circles on the bottom and top. I then used  a drum sander on my power drill and rounded the handle. Then I began to give it its curves. Here is what I ended up with.

Update: June 26, 2017

First shave with the JR #195 and my Gillette 195. The brush lathered like a champ. Excellent shave.

Jayaruh #195 and 196

My new friend, Bert, is a handyman and I showed him my brushes. He asked if I could make him one  with a hammer motif. Here is what I came up with.

At the suggestion of a fellow TSDer, I have renamed this brush as 196. I made a new brush to commemorate the Gillette 195, the Fatboy.
