Magnetic Blade Carrier for Enders Razors

 I had made some blade carriers for my Enders shavers  so I could use injector blades in them. The Enders Speed Razors/Shavers were well made and designed razors. Unfortunately, no one makes blades for them anymore. Then I was introduced to someone who had made a magnetic blade holder that worked as well or better than my carriers. However, I cannot recall who made this nifty blade carrier.



My design used old Enders blades where the bevel was ground off and where I used JB Weld to make spots that would line up with the blade holes. It worked for a while, but eventually one of the wings on the blade holder would fail. 

Here is a better design that took more know-how and tools than I have.

Like I said, I don't remember who made this carrier. It was a bit pricy, but now I can use any of my Enders razors with confidence and the blade of my choosing.

Enders Speed Razor Blade Carrier: Success

I had what turned out to be a brilliant idea for a blade carrier for the Enders Speed Razor. With this carrier, I can use Personna or Schick injector blades in my Enders Speed Razor. Here is what I did:

1. I blunted the edge of an Enders blade first. Next, I lined up a Schick Proline blade on the Enders blade and taped it securely in place.


2. I mixed some JB Weld epoxy and filled the holes of the Schick blade.


3. I pulled the Schick blade off the Enders blade leaving the epoxy. I set this aside over night to cure.


4. Next day.  I had cleaned off the Schick the night before. Here they are ready for fitting.


5. I used my Dremel with a grinding wheel to trim off excess epoxy.


6. I seated the Schick blade on the epoxy pins and ground down the epoxy level with the top surface of the blade.


7. Here it is for the first fitting in the Enders razor. It looks great.


8. Next, I used the Dremel and ground down the edge of the Enders blade to about half of the existing bevel.


9. Here is the Personna blade fitted onto the Enders carrier blade.


10. This is the Personna ready for a shave. The JB Weld epoxy pins should last a long time and provide many great Enders shaves.

Enders Speed Razor Blade Carrier: New Idea

I made a new carrier for my Enders Speed Razor today, and I got to thinking of a new idea. The Enders blade is almost twice as wide as an injector blade.

In the picture below the new carrier is on the left. I took off half the bevel and created "bumps" to locate the blade in the correct position. That is when it occurred to me that if I "super glued" a blade to the back side to act as a stop for the injector, I may not need "bumps." To the right is an injector blade on top and an injector blade on bottom that I modified. I completely removed the bevel from the bottom blade.


In the next picture, I have located the backer injector and notice that it is a wee bit long. I want it to be flush with the Enders blade.


Next, after taking off just a wee bit more, I ready it for gluing with super glue. As I type this sentence, the blade is glued and clamped. I will be trying it out shortly. This configuration will hold the injector blade in place. It will load with the injector blade and backer blade on top.


I finished it. Looks like it is a success.

Enders Blade Carrier

I had piffed my original Enders carrier blade, so I am making a new one. Here is how it went.

I started with a genuine Enders blade and an injector blade. I used my Dremel to clean them up. The Enders had water stains on it. Here they are after cleaning.


Next, I lined up the two blades' edges.


I clamped them in a clamp to hold the edges even.


This is where I would fill the holes with epoxy.


I squirted out equal amounts of J.B. Weld epoxy onto a piece of paper.


Using a paper clip, I mixed the epoxy. This epoxy takes about 6 hours to set and 24 hours to cure.


Then I filled the holes in the injector blade. This is where I set it and forget it; at least for about 4 hours.


After about 4 hours, I returned an removed the injector blade. The epoxy is not fully set. Now, I will wait until the next day to finish it off.


Here it is after I have removed the excess epoxy down to level with the top of the injector.

Here the injector blade is on the Enders carrier blade. It is ready to go.


Here you can see that the bevel is gone leaving the injector extending beyond the edge.

The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #199 synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Enders Speed Shaver and the Schick Proline B-20 Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This week, M-F, I am using my Green Enders Speed Shaver with my special blade carrier I made. It is an Enders blade that I removed the edge from. I used JB Weld to make spots where the injector blade would go. Lastly, I have super glued two magnets on the back to hold the blade.

Enders Backer Blade-Carrier for Injector Blade

 I went through my used razor tub and found two Enders blades. I might as well make two as make one.

I have finished the first step: making the locating bumps for the injector blade. I roughed up the blade and used JB Weld epoxy to fill the holes of the injector blade.

After an hour, I removed the injector blades.
Will let cure overnight

 The blades will cure overnight. Tomorrow I will remove the beveled edge of the blade and clean them up, making sure that they will accept an injector blade. Next, I will super glue a couple of magnets on the back of the Enders blade. I should be finished with them by Thursday.

Unknown Brand Chinese Shavette

 This shavette was a gift to me from a shaver in Turkey. I believe it is a product of China, but I cannot read Chinese. Writing on the blade pack was my clue.


It has the shape of a straight, but it is very thick. There is a blade carrier that slides out the end for changing.

Here is the package that has only two English words: stainless and blade. The 77 refers to the length of the blade in mm.
