Jayaruh #267

I am making this 400 style brush for a gentleman on TSD. I am making it out of birdseye maple. The first pictures are after I got the basic shape.

The next pictures are after I have added the flutes.

March 6 Update:

I branded the bottom and sealed/stained the handle with colonial maple. Getting ready for the polycrylic finish.

Another Trade

I am making a trade with a fellow TSDer in Canadia. He wants a 400 style brush with a boar knot, but he is trying to complete a No Buy 2018. Fortunately, trades don't count as buys. We discussed several possibilities, and when he suggested a CV Heljestrand Safety Razor, my interest was peaked.

Here is the picture he sent:

It has two wedges that can probably be restored with an edge. In the picture is a piece that does not fit with the razor but was with it when he got the razor. I will be making a new 400 style brush from a yet to be chosen wood and knotting it with an Omega boar. I will call it Jayaruh #267.

March 1: Here are some better pictures that came today.
