OCtober is Almost Here

I am planning on doing the Open Comb theme for OCtober. Here is my line up.

Left to right: Gillette Single Ring (1911), Gillette NEW SC, German made OT travel razor, English made Goodwill, OT with Maggard fatty handle, Franken razor (FHT handle and top plate with English NEW LC bottom), and GEM Micromatic OC. I will also be using my new silvertip badger, Jayaruh #104.

Test Lathering for #104

I got an Ace 26mm High Mountain White badger in trade for a handle. I decided that the #104 was the fitting home for it. I set it with silicone yesterday and did a test lathering today. I used Soap Commander's Renewal Shaving Soap for the test. Here are the pictures.

I normally build lather on the face and not in a bowl, but I do use a bowl when I first lather a brush. This is going to be a very nice brush.

Jayaruh #104

This is the second handle I have made with the aid of a lathe. Like #103 it is made of Brazilian iron wood that I got as a gift from Rob in Canadia.
