Razor Emporium Ball End Handle Clone

Razor Emporium has come out with a nickel plated clone of the Gillette ball end handle. It is made of brass and is threaded. I just received mine. I was unable to unscrew either the top or the ball end from the tube. Below is a vintage ball end handle that has a mass of 28g. Then the RE ball end handle that also has a mass of 28g.

 Here they are side by side.

 Below is my Gillette Flat Bottom New made in England with a ball end handle. It has a mass of 60g.

 Next, I put the RE ball end handle on it and of course, it has a mass of 60g, too. The handle is very handsome and has great knurling.

Here are some pictures with my Property of US Army Gillette razor head. I got it in a lot with no handle. The RE handle really dresses it up.

Jayaruh #332 Completed

The Omega 49 brushes finally came in yesterday around 7:30 PM, so it was too late to do anything with them. Today, I got busy harvesting the knots and preparing them for JR#332.

Removed the knots from the handles.

Ready to remove the collar.

Split one side using a Dremel tool.

I scored the opposite side and them pried the collar off the knot.

I prepared two knots.

Too big for the handles.

I shaped the plug using my belt sander.

This is the knot dry fitted. Perfect.

 These are pictures after I set the knot with epoxy. The handle is 86mm high. The knot is 26mm at the opening and has a 65mm loft.

New Handle for a Schick G1

I got this Schick G1 in today from Arthur in England. The handle had broken, and he asked if I could make him a new one from wood. I suggested he send it to me, and I could fix him up. Other than the broken handle, the razor was in excellent shape. This is going to make a fine razor.

While I was waiting on the razor to arrive, I made the handle. In fact I made several. I gussied this one up by painting the cutouts black. Then I finished it with a clear polycrylic finish. So, here are pictures of the razor after I fit the handle to it.
