With no lathe to turn brush handles, I must make do with what I have. First of all I have the rail on my front steps.
Next, in the chair, I have a gig I made to hold my drill, my 1/2 inch Milwaukee drill, a bungee to hold it all in place, and a 2 inch drum sander.
Here is the drill nestled in the gig and secured to the rail with the bungee.
I have installed the drum sander in the drill.
To make the drill run continuously I use a self-locking clamp.
So, this is my setup for rounding my brush stock. I will scribe a circle on both ends of the stock and then sand off the excess wood to make it round. Then it is ready for shaping.
