Box #77 for M. Hunter & Son 5/8 Straight
I finished pinning my M. Hunter & Son razor and gave it a good stropping. I used it this morning on my left side, and it did a good job. So, I decided it needed a nice home to live in. I looked through my scrap wood and pulled out some pieces to make this box. I actually had a limb of cedar that I cut about 3/8 thick planks. From these, I fashioned the sides. I used 1/4 inch plywood for the top and bottom. The insert for the razor was made from a 3/4 inch pine blank.
I put a coat of Polycrylic on and installed hinges and a latch. Then I lined the inside with red felt. Finally, I drew a Horn Bugle on the top. That is one of their trade marks. I burned it into the lid. Here is what I got.

M. Hunter & Son 5/8 Extra Hollow Ground
I got this M. Hunter & Son 5/8 Extra Hollow Ground razor a number of years ago. It had no scales at the time, and I tried cleaning it up as best as I could. The edge looks in pretty good shape. I ordered some scales from Maggard Razors and re-scaled a couple of razors, but set this one aside. Yesterday, I was cleaning out things and ran across the razor. Today, I pinned the scales on the razor.
I hope to clean the blade up a bit more and then get a good shaving edge on it. I really would like to shave with it. It is a cool looking blade. The logo on the blade is a horn.

Jayaruh #440 and #441
I received two knots from Jesse, a shaver in California. Today, I began making two handles for the knots. The brushes will be JR #440 and #441. The first two pictures are after I completed making the handles. Top is Patagonian rosewood, I think. It will have the synthetic knot. The second is bird's eye maple. It is taking the two-band badger.
