This is a piece of spalted maple that was sent to me in a trade by Ed, a fellow TSDer. I started making this piece round yesterday, but today I did quite a bit of shaping including making the hole.
Thursday's work. August 13.
Friday's work. August 15.
End of day. This is what I have. Now, I will set it aside and maybe think about what I want to do next. I really like the wild coloring in this brush. Maybe I will paint it black. No, just kidding. Don't want to cover up this great look.
August 15
Did more shaping and sanding and stained with golden oak stain/sealer.
Later that evening, I applied the first coat of polyurethane.
