Jayaruh #45 Test Lather

I face lathered today with the #45 brush and Proraso shaving cream. I wanted to see how it would bowl later, so this afternoon I broke out the Soap Commander Renewal Shaving Soap.

Here are the results. I loaded the brush for 30 seconds with the Soap Commander Renewal Shaving Soap and added a little water to the bowl to create this nice lather.

Shave of the Day - 2/15

TESC Pre-Shave Oil
Proraso Green Shaving Soap
Jayaruh #45 Ace synthetic (first shave)
Gillette Red Tip
Personna Blue
CWR, Asma Alum Block
Thayers Rose Petal WH
Aqua Velva Ice Blue

After a quick change of mind this morning, I decided to try out The Beehive synthetic brush. It did a fine job. The Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #45 Ace synthetic brush. Two passes with my Gillette Red Tip razor and a Personna Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Today, I received two new synthetic knots from China and finished off the #45 brush. The knot is an Ace 24mm Synthetic. It is set at a 54mm loft. The knot is 27mm at the top of the handle.

Jayaruh #45 Begins: The Beehive

The Jayaruh #45 is a beehive style brush handle. It was suggested by Red Rider on TSD.

It's been six days since I cut the end of my thumb. Bandaged up, it was not an issue today.

This is a 24mm pure padger I had on hand.

Sealed and stained with dark walnut. 2/11
