Jayaruh #287

I started this brush yesterday by gluing up four different woods: locust wood for the top and bottom, walnut, mahogany, and an unidentified light wood for the middle.

Today, I worked on it. First, I cleaned up the edges.

Then, I cut off the corners to make an octagon.

Then I put it on the lathe and gave it shape.

Next, I made the knot hole.

Here it is, almost finished. I have put a synthetic horse in it for the picture. I think that might be just the right knot for this handle.

Next, I branded the bottom with JR 287 and finished it with polycrylic.

Finished. The knot is set.
