I found this small shaving brush at The Dollar Tree and thought I might be able to use the knot in a brush I was planning for Big Mike in Pennsylvania. I bought two just in case I messed up. 
I harvested the knot from the handle. I had a piece of birdseye maple that I used to make the handle. The next picture shows the knot dry fitted in the handle.
