I had this idea to make a barber pole brush. I call this Folk Art style. This is the beginning. The knot is a boar, but it is just dry fit right now. Next, I will brand it JR 183 and put some clear coat on it. Then I will set the knot.

The VDH Luxury Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #182 Synthetic brush. I did the first pass with the Gillette Super 84 razor and Rockwell Swedish Stainless blade and second/clean up pass with New Improved, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Florida Water AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This brush was made of Louisiana cypress. It is finished with polycrylic. I settled on the 28mm Maggard Black & White synthetic knot.

This handle was made from cypress wood. I stained the bottom with dark walnut and the top with honey pecan. I finished it with polyurethane and finally put a Maggard 28mm synthetic knot in it. It was adopted shortly after its completion.
